You are at the right place!
My goal at The Happy Homeschool is to inspire and equip you to create a learning environment that makes home everyone’s favorite place. I think that happens most easily and with the most satisfying results when the parent-child relationship is nurtured.
Teach them to discover and think
My husband and I used this foundational approach for teaching our 7 children through high school with great success. It made hard times more bearable and good times more enjoyable. Our children learned to discover the world and think clearly about what they were finding. They also developed deep bonds with their siblings and learned how to build meaningful relationships.
The worst time in our homeschooling adventure was when our daughter was being treated for leukemia for two years. She passed away at age 13. Homeschooling during that time had its unique challenges, but it also was a huge blessing.
Living in Taiwan for nearly a year added a very fun twist to our homeschooling experience. Our youngest three children were still at home and we took advantage of the language, culture, and history opportunities.
Create a fantastic family experience
You, too, can have a fantastic homeschooling experience while you create one for your children. Some days will be hard and others will be loads of fun. Like anything worth doing, it takes a long term perspective and a willingness to be flexibly creative.

There is no time like the present to spend time with your children, because soon that time will be gone. If you want to be able to fondly look back on this time, make it worth looking back to. Make a happy homeschool a regular part of your life.
