Reports are coming in about conflict among the representatives at the Babel Peace Summit. Many national ambassadors are at the point of refusing to engage in talks at all, claiming they are being treated disrespectfully by others speaking in gibberish.
Factions are said to be forming as groups are communicating in what are suspected to be cleverly devised verbal codes. All work on the commemorative tower has stopped.
The Babel Peace Summit has long been a dream of Nimrod, President of Shinar and legendary general. His work on the cities of Erech, Resen, and Nineveh is much admired. Under his administration, the brick industry has seen phenomenal growth. He has expressed hope that the Summit would result in a World Unity Government, which he has graciously offered to head up until a suitable leader could be found.
The Summit has been taking place in a specially designed, but as yet unfinished, city, which has been dubbed Nimrodia by its detractors. They raise questions about whether or not unity enforced by law is really peaceful. Also, they have published data showing mismanagement of government money set aside to build the city and memorial tower.
Authorities have been having trouble hunting down and silencing detractors due to peace officers’ deteriorating language skills.
Political differences are becoming less important as people are simply overjoyed to find someone who speaks the same language. Groups based on language are forming to make plans to move to new locations. Our group is looking for both a baker and a weapons specialist.
