Two priests of the newly established order have been reported dead. Authorities say they have been identified as Nadab and Abihu Aaronson. The men deviated from prescribed incense formulas, which resulted in a severe blast from the firepans they were working with.
The exact nature of the reaction is not yet understood. It seems to have been extremely intense, but for only a fraction of a second. The surrounding area was completely untouched. In fact, the clothing of the dead priests was not noticeably affected. There is speculation that the fumes may have quickly seared their lungs, with the associated heat also stopping their hearts.
The two younger brothers of the dead men have remained on duty. They have received strict instructions to keep the sacrificial proceedings going. Mr. Hatshepsutson, the man who hears from God for our Hebrew nation, has made it clear that the two elder Aaronson brothers died only because they blantantly dishonored God. The rest of the priests have nothing to fear if they approach the sacrifices according to the straightforward protocols.
