The Egyptian leader’s ongoing policy of detaining lovely women may have backfired on him when a foreign dignitary recently visited. Cabinet members followed protocol for flagging the presence of the dignitary’s stunning sister, Sarai, who was part of the entourage. Approval was immediately obtained from the brother for her to marry the Pharaoh.
The festive spirit in the capital suffered when a series of torturous phenomena occurred after the engagement was announced. Miserable civil servants put on a show of pageantry, but were visibly relieved when news arrived that the celebration was indefinitely postponed until the marital status of the bride-to-be was verified.
Pharaoh’s spokesman says that Pharaoh received information from a very reliable and well placed source that the woman is both the dignitary’s half-sister and wife.
When confronted, the dignitary admitted that prior knowledge of the Egyptian procedure of seizing exquisite women prompted the subterfuge.
As the true husband, Abram of Ur was convinced he would be murdered by officials when they carried out their governmentally approved abduction of his wife. It seems to have worked out well for Abram of Ur, as he has received numerous gifts in honor of his sister-wife.
Abram of Ur’s whole delegation is currently being formally escorted from the country to avoid further incident.
