Reading 1 Kings Chapter 17

September 24, 2022 by Laura Blodgett Leave a Comment

Summary: Elijah makes a grand entrance to the narrative, predicting drought, hiding out to be fed by ravens, then staying with a widow after telling her that her meal and oil won’t run out until it rains again. Elijah also prays for her son to be brought back to life after an illness, which firmly establishes the widow’s understanding of Elijah’s role in speaking for God. Read from the World English Bible.
