Summary: We hear of Samuel sleeping in the temple (please note correction to my comments in this podcast in the comments after the reading of 1 Samuel 13) and are told a word from Yahweh was rare in those days. So it stands out that Yahweh called to Samuel and when he was still a child. The first word given to Sanuel is about the judgement coming to Eli. This is the second time Eli is told through someone about this. This is the beginning of Samuel being established as a prophet of Yahweh. Read from the World English Bible.
