Summary: Moses reminds them about how Yahweh spoke to them face to face out of the middle of the fire on the mountain, reviewing the commands such as “you shall have no other gods before me,” “observe the Sabbath day to keep it holy,” and “you shall not covet anything that is your neighbor’s.” It made them afraid they would die if they continued to hear his voice, so they asked Moses to go hear “all that Yahweh our God tells you” without them.
