Summary: Again stressing that they need to keep Yahweh’s commandments, Moses tells how the 40 years in the wilderness was to humble them and prove what was in their hearts. It was to teach them that man does not live by bread only, but by every word that proceeds out of Yahweh’s mouth. He reiterates how they were fed with food previously unknown and how their garments did not wear out. And they are cautioned that if they forget Yahweh after they have gained wealth and walk after other gods, they will perish like the nations before them. Read from the World English Bible.
