Summary: Israel and all his offspring travel to Egypt. Along the way, God spoke to Jacob in the night and told him he would become a great nation there. All Jacob’s son’s and grandsons are listed by name, plus a couple of daughters. At Joseph’s direction, his brothers ask to live in the land of Goshen, which Pharaoh agrees to. Joseph continues to provide their food. The famine continues to be severe and the Egyptians end up selling their land to Pharaoh, as well as themselves. When the time came that Jacob knew he would die soon, he made Joseph promise not to bury him in Egypt. Read from the World English Bible.
