Summary: Heaven is Yahweh’s throne and the earth is his footstool, for his hand has made all these things. He will look to the man who is of a poor and contrite spirit, who trembles at his word. He will bring their fears on those whose souls delight in their abominations. A nation being born in one day is compared to a woman giving birth before her pain comes. He will comfort Jerusalem like a mother comforts her child. “Yahweh’s hand will be known among his servants: and he will have indignation against his enemies.” He will execute judgement by fire and by his sword. The new heavens and the new earth shall remain before him and all flesh will come to worship before him.
