Summary: Hezekiah is very sick and God tells him through Isaiah that he should get ready to die, but Hezekiah prays and Yahweh says he will live for 15 more years. Then Hezekiah writes a song of his original distress and subsequent deliverance “from the pit of corruption.” Soon after, Merodach Baladan, son of the current king of Bablyon, sends congratulations regarding Hezekiah’s recovery. Hezekiah proceeds to flaunt all of his wealth to them, followed by a prophecy from Isaiah that in the days to come all of it will be carried away to Babylon and Hezekiah’s male descendants will become eunuch’s there.
