Reading Isaiah Chapters 8 and 9

December 16, 2021 by Laura Blodgett Leave a Comment

Summary: Isaiah has a son and the son’s growth is used as a timeline comparison for when Assyria will wipe out Damascus and Samaria. This will happen because the people would rather follow the ways of Rezin and Remaliah’s son. Isaiah gives warning about consulting with familiar spirits or wizards. Then, Isaiah tells of the hope of child a that will be born to bring a government of peace that will never end, from David’s throne. However, there is still much wickedness and arrogance in the people such that God’s anger is not yet turned away and his hand is stretched out still against them. Read from the World English Bible.
