Summary: The names of the twelve disciples are listed. Then, Jesus sends them out with specific instructions about who to preach to and how to respond to those who don’t listen. He warns them that he is sending them out “among wolves” and they will be hated by all men for his name’s sake. But they are not to be afraid of those who are not able to kill the soul. To point out how much God values them, he explains how well the Father watches over even sparrows. And he makes it clear that following him is more important than any other relationship.
