Reading Matthew Chapter 25

May 6, 2022 by Laura Blodgett Leave a Comment

Summary: Jesus continues his answer to the disciples about the sign of his coming and the end of the age with three analogies. First, he says the Kingdom of Heaven will be like 10 virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. He explains the difference between the 5 wise virgins and the 5 foolish virgins. Second, he tells the story of a man handing out talents to three of his servants while he goes away into another country. Only two of them are told “Well done, good and faithful servant.” Third, Jesus tells of separating the sheep from the goats, explaining that his sheep will have been doing things to care for “the least of these my brothers.” Read from the World English Bible.
