Reading 2 Kings Chapter 2

October 2, 2022 by Laura Blodgett Leave a Comment

Summary: Elijah and Elisha walk a circuit between Gilgal, Bethel, Jericho, and the Jordan River, where along the way groups of prophets warn Elisha that Elijah will be taken from him that day. But apparently already knows. Elijah lets Elisha ask for something before he is taken. Then Elisha gets separated from Elijah by fire and Elijah whirls up into heaven. Elisha goes back the way they came, beginning with causing the Jordan river to part for him. Finally, we have the sad incident of the gang of mocking young men. Read from the World English Bible.
