Summary: Moses and the elders of Israel command the people to set up stones, coat them with plaster, and write all the words of the law on them. They are also to build an alter of uncut stones upon which to sacrifice peace offerings and rejoice. The tribes are designated to stand on either Mount Gerizim or Mount Ebal when they have crossed over the Jordan, to curse or bless the people according to whether or not they follow the commandments of Yahweh.
