Summary: Jesus is bound and taken to Pontius Pilate. Judas gives back the thirty pieces of silver, leading to fulfilled prophecy. Pilate gives the crowd a chance to ask for Jesus to be released, Pilate’s wife sends him a message about Jesus, Pilate declares Jesus innocent, then sends him to be crucified to appease the crowd. The governor’s soldiers mock and hit Jesus. There is three hours of darkness in the middle of the day, after which Jesus yields up his spirit and the veil of the temple is torn from top to bottom. Joseph of Arimathaea buries Jesus body in his own new tomb and Pilate tells the chief priests, etc, to feel free to make it as secure as they can. Read from the World English Bible.
