A surrogate mother who had been  reported missing has recently returned home.  Known as Hagar, she says she made the decision to leave in the heat of the moment after another abusive encounter with the social mother of the baby.

Hagar works for and lives with the social mother, a well known lady of influence in the region, Sarai Hebrew.  Married to Abram Hebrew, famous for his legendary defeat of the Coalition of Four, Mrs. Hebrew has for many years faced the stigma of never being able to bear children.

When questioned, Mrs. Hebrew asserted that Hagar had been regularly taunting and humiliating her.  Mrs. Hebrew maintains that a firm hand was necessary to bring the inappropriate behavior to an end.  She denies that any illegal or unethical treatment took place.  This seems to be supported by the fact that Hagar appears at ease with her choice to go back and live within the household.

Hagar’s story about events during her time in the desert is being scrutinized, as part of her psychological evaluation.  She unwaveringly states that she spoke with God while in the Shur Desert.

Apparently, He told her she should return home and continue to stay with the Hebrews.  She is certain she will have a son and that this God will give her many descendants.  She says this God really sees what is going on.

The Hebrews are not showing any signs of being disturbed by Hagar’s supposed spiritual experience.  Sources inside the household say that Abram has also mentioned a few such talks with God over the years.  It was allegedly those conversations that prompted the Hebrews to emigrate from Haran.

They expected the plan that God outlined to include having children, but after waiting for several years for Him to take the initiative in this matter, they settled on the alternate plan of using a surrogate mother.
